Babies died after vaccinated

Ingredients of Vaccines - Fact Sheet

Chemicals commonly used in the production of vaccines include a suspending fluid (sterile water, saline, or fluids containing protein); preservatives and stabilizers (for example, albumin, phenols, and glycine); and adjuvants or enhancers that help improve the vaccine's effectiveness. Vaccines also may contain very small amounts of the culture material used to grow the virus or bacteria used in the vaccine, such as chicken egg protein.

Common substances found in vaccines include:

  • Aluminum gels or salts of aluminum which are added as adjuvants to help the vaccine stimulate a better response. Adjuvants help promote an earlier, more potent response, and more persistent immune response to the vaccine.

  • Antibiotics which are added to some vaccines to prevent the growth of germs (bacteria) during production and storage of the vaccine. No vaccine produced in the United States contains penicillin.

  • Egg protein is found in influenza and yellow fever vaccines, which are prepared using chicken eggs. Ordinarily, persons who are able to eat eggs or egg products safely can receive these vaccines.

  • Formaldehyde is used to inactivate bacterial products for toxoid vaccines, (these are vaccines that use an inactive bacterial toxin to produce immunity.) It is also used to kill unwanted viruses and bacteria that might contaminate the vaccine during production. Most formaldehyde is removed from the vaccine before it is packaged.

  • Monosodium glutamate (MSG) and 2-phenoxy-ethanol which are used as stabilizers in a few vaccines to help the vaccine remain unchanged when the vaccine is exposed to heat, light, acidity, or humidity.

  • Thimerosal is a mercury-containing preservative that is added to vials of vaccine that contain more than one dose to prevent contamination and growth of potentially harmful bacteria.

2 babies die, dozens hospitalized after vaccination in southern Mexico

CNN, Updated 0302 GMT (1002 HKT) May 11, 2015
(CNN)Mexican health officials are investigating after two babies died and 29 children were hospitalized from suspected adverse reactions to shots from the country's national vaccination program.
Six of the children hospitalized in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas remain in serious condition, the Mexican Social Security Institute said on Sunday.

The parents of the two infants who died were so outraged at the government that they refused to let authorities perform autopsies, CNNMexico reported.

The illnesses were reported after 52 children from the rural mining community of La Pimienta were given vaccines Friday for tuberculosis, rotavirus and Hepatitis B, the institute said. Later that night, 31 of the children "presented adverse reactions presumably associated with the application of these vaccines," officials said. Two of the children later died.

Authorities haven't said what they think caused the illnesses. They've pinpointed the batches the vaccines came from and have suspended administration of other vaccines from those batches pending the conclusion of their investigation, the institute said. They're also investigating the needles used in the vaccinations and the possibility that a virus or bacteria could have caused the illnesses, Mexico's El Universal newspaper reported.

Residents of La Pimienta told CNNMexico the vaccinations were offered Friday when officials came to the community and announced over loudspeakers that vaccines would be given to newborns.

In the poor, rural area, access to medical care is difficult to come by. There are no hospitals or clinics, only a small cinder block health center with a tin roof where residents go when a doctor passes through the community. A small selection of paracetamol and other pills sits on dusty shelves inside.

On Sunday officials said the state's governor and the director general of the Mexican Social Security Institute visited the hospitalized children, vowing to support their families and to be transparent as they continued their investigation.

Nickson Would be Celebrating Life if it Weren’t for Vaccines

Augustina Ursino, April 8, 2015
One mother, Lindsey Pelton, lost her son less than 12 hours after he was given routine vaccines.

A Family Full Of Love

Lindsey and her husband Nicholas were expecting their first child together when a tragedy occurred. Nicholas had enlisted in the Army and a temporary housing solution for their family was to move in with Lindsey’s father, until Nicholas was finished with basic training and stationed somewhere. Once stationed, they planned to get a house of their own.

Her father’s house, with every possession in the world they owned, burned down in a house fire. They lost everything. The insurance company helped them find another house to live in during the year it would take to re-build her father’s house.

Two weeks after the fire happened, shortly after they moved into their rental property, Nicholas fell down the basement stairs. Nicholas suffered from the injuries sustained and died in his sleep on October 15, 2011.

Lindsey was in her first trimester. Their whole family was heartbroken and had never expected such a loss. Nicholas was legally adopting Lindsey’s two older kids when he passed away. He was the only dad they ever knew.

The stress from her husband’s loss led to a premature birth of their baby. At 32 weeks gestation, on April 22, 2012, a sweet baby boy, Nickson Law Pelton, was brought into this world. He weighed four pounds and nine ounces.

Even though he was born two months early, the hospital staff treated him like a full-term baby and injected him with the vitamin K shot and the hepatitis B vaccine.

Lindsey Felt Forced To Continue To Vaccinate Her Premature Baby

Lindsey was already uncomfortable "moving to the sticks” and obtaining a new pediatrician for Nickson in Covington, Georgia. She found one who had just gone into solo practice after leaving a well-known and reputable group practice.

On June 29, 2012, Nickson’s pediatrician gave him eight vaccines at his two-month checkup – the 5-in-1 combo Pentacel for (DTaP, polio and Hib), Energix B for hepatits B, the pneumococcal vaccine Prevnar 13 and the oral rotavirus vaccine RotaTeq. He was fussy after the shots and suffered what are considered “normal reactions” to the vaccines.

Lindsey stated,

“My daughter was also a preemie and at that time, we lived in a big city and loved our pediatrician. She really listened, only gave minimal vaccines, spaced them out and took into account her gestational age. It was so different from my daughter’s pediatrician to Nickson’s.

After his 2 month shots, his leg began tremoring. We started calling him thumper. I was told it was no big deal, not to worry and that of course it wasn't related to him having a shot in the leg that was acting unusual.

His doctor said since he was a preemie, his nerves were just getting used to working, or something along those lines. He also ran a very low grade fever daily from the 2 month shots, even up to his next appointment.”

At the age of four months old (even though he was born two months premature), with a low grade fever upon arrival, his doctor said he needed seven vaccines during this visit. Nickson’s doctor insisted his premature birth was all the more reason he should be vaccinated on schedule.

Lindsey knew this was not good and protested against them; he was so tiny, weighing less than ten pounds and she was concerned about his previous reactions to vaccines. Against her wishes, Lindsey was threatened if she didn’t allow the vaccines, Child Protective Services would be called because Nickson was born prematurely and his doctor said he needed all these vaccines to protect him.

Lindsey didn’t have the emotional capability to fight the doctor and she didn’t want Nickson taken away. After losing her husband, Nicholas, she couldn’t face losing Nickson too. She felt helpless and watched in horror what was being done to her son. She prayed everything would be all right.

On August 23, 2012, during this visit, Nickson was given seven vaccines at his four-month checkup. Tiny, little Nickson was given the 5-in-1 combo Pentacel for (DTaP, Polio and Hib), the Pneumococcal vaccine Prevnar 13 and the oral Rotavirus vaccine RotaTeq. Less than 12 hours later, he stopped breathing and passed away.

4 Month-Old Infant From Tennessee Passed Away After Given 7 Vaccines

Augustina Ursino, June 3 2015
Parents in Memphis, Tennessee, are mourning the loss of their baby girl Ja’Liyah Cortize Turner, after she passed away in her sleep, less than four days after receiving seven vaccines. Her mother Quavia felt pressured into getting her daughter further vaccinated, even though she didn’t want to, because her daughter had a bad reaction from the round of vaccines given to her earlier.

Ja’Liyah’s autopsy report did not mention the vaccines even though she still had the knots on her legs at the injection sites. Her cause of death was ruled “Unknown, Undetermined.” The autopsy stated Ja’Liyah had no significant medical history contributing to her death. Yet, it is very significant Ja’Liyah had just received seven vaccines four days earlier.

Tennessee is ranked third in the nation for having the highest infant mortality rate in the United States.

“We Thought We Were Protecting Her” Quavia shares what happened to her family:

“When my daughter Ja’Liyah was born on November 29, 2013, she weighed 5 pounds and 6 ounces. She was given the Hep B vaccine soon after birth. I have that on video and it makes me cringe when I see that now.

At her two month check-up, she was given 8 vaccines. They were DTaP, Polio, Hib, Hep B, PCV and the oral Rotavirus vaccine. That was on January 29, 2014. After that appointment, she had a high fever, treated without pain meds because she was too young for that. And she had knots in her legs where they injected her, which I put warm towels on.

I took her to the emergency room and no one led me to believe what these symptoms represented, that any further vaccines could cause worse harm. I was told these were normal reactions and not to worry.

A month and a half later when Ja’Liyah was 3 ½ months old, my milk dried up. I was really upset but had to stop nursing her because of this. We switched her to drinking baby formula.

Then, as unaware as I was, because I listened to the doctor, she was given 7 vaccines at her four month checkup on Monday, April 14, 2014. She was given DTaP, Polio, Hib, PCV and the oral Rotavirus vaccine.”

Ja’Liyah’s vaccine record

"After the doctor’s visit, she was fussy afterwards. She suffered the same reactions as last time. I took her to the emergency room that same night after her shots, because she started running a high fever. They said it was normal and sent us home.

She was not given anything at the hospital and I didn't give her any pain medication because again, she was too young. Her fever eventually broke. I was putting warm towels on her legs where they injected her. I kept the bandages on her legs so I would know exactly where to put the warm towels, even though the knots were still present.

A couple days later, she seemed to be doing fine, being her normal self, but she still had the knots from the shots on her legs.

Three days after the vaccines were given to her, on Thursday night, I cooked dinner, we all ate and then played. We were up late, like we normally are. We adapted to Ja’Liyah’s sleeping habits, instead of forcing her to sleep during normal times. At the time, her older brother Duke was 5. He hadn’t started school yet because his birthday is later in the year, so he wasn't set to start school until August. So it was no bother for him to be up late too.

At about 3 A.M. the kids were up playing. I was like, are you going to go to sleep little girl, she just giggled like she normally did. I was holding her up while she was jumping, like my mom taught her to.

I changed and fed her and put her in bed, she fell asleep. Her brother fell asleep in the same room. We usually co-slept but were trying to teach the kids to sleep in their own beds.

Friday morning at around 7 A.M., I went in there to feed and change her. She took her bottle I brought to her and she smiled. After I finished feeding her, I laid her in the bed next to her brother and she went back to sleep. They were used to sleeping next to each other. Even during the day, she would hardly leave her brother alone if he wasn’t paying attention to her.

That was the last time I saw my love alive …

A little while later, I got up, went in the room and looked in at them, both kids were still soundly sleeping, so I decided I would continue to clean, wash, and pack. We were getting ready to move on Monday, to a bigger place for our growing family. We’d already put the deposit down and had mostly packed up the house.

My son woke up. I checked my phone, called my dad, went to the bathroom, and called my mom. After that, around 10:22 A.M., I went back in the room and was messing with Ja’Liyah, thinking she would be awake by now. Normally, when I pounce on the bed, she would move, but she didn't this time.

I rubbed her head and she didn't embrace my touch. I just stared at her because something didn't look or feel right to me. I was looking for the stomach going up and down, I saw nothing. I remember just screaming, My Baby Gone, She Gone …

I remember my son Duke screaming. I remember their dad Jarvis coming in, grabbing her, and trying to do CPR. I remember me trying to clean her mouth and nose.

She wasn't facing me, she was facing the wall. She had what looked like a mixture of thick fluids and a small amount of blood coming from her mouth and nose and even her ears she had stuff coming out of them. I was wiping her while my husband was holding her and doing CPR. We were trying to clean her but it just kept coming out. Both my husband and my shirts were stained. I called 911. It seemed they took forever to arrive.

When the emergency responders came, they laid my baby on the ground and I flipped out. I remember my dad pulling up. I remember the look on my son’s face and the look on my husband’s face when they told us we could not go with her to the hospital.

She was to ride alone to the hospital, they told us no one was allowed to ride with her.

We sat around waiting. I remember telling Jarvis, baby I gotta go, tell them take whatever they need from me to keep her live, get it from me, she can have whatever from me, and you give her the blood from me. I remember him saying “please no”…

My aunt went to the hospital but they would not let her back there with Ja’Liyah. They said my aunt could go to the hospital, to be with her, which made us think that Ja’Liyah was alive. Only for someone to come tell us, that she didn't make it. We were so furious. I remember Jarvis punching bricks off the wall, before I fainted.

My daughter received her 4 month shots on Monday April 14, 2014 and she was gone by early Friday morning April 18, 2014. I honestly didn't know what caused her death when it happened.

I was not investigated, because it was ruled no foul play. They did however assign a DCFS worker to my family, to make sure we were okay and coping, and to make sure my son was doing okay. Their approach was not all good because when they first called me, the worker asked if my child is safe, referring to my son. As if to say we had something to do with Ja’Liyah’s death and they were looking to place blame and were asking if our son was harmed too.

I wouldn’t tolerate that. I had nothing taken from me, they came and took pictures and asked questions, but that's about it. Everyone, even people that do not know us, know we are excellent parents to the kids. So they never questioned us like that.

The day after she passed, she had the autopsy done on Saturday morning, April 19, 2014.

I got to see Ja’Liyah on Monday, April 21, 2014, after the funeral home got her and cleaned her body. I asked the Funeral director to see her, I needed to see her, It broke me down to see her like that, they had cotton balls in her nose, and she was darkening.

The medical examiner said my daughter was perfect and he couldn’t find anything, even though she still had the knots on her legs at the injections sites.

Her cause of death was ruled as Unknown, Undetermined. Vaccines she was just given were not mentioned on the autopsy report, her recent emergency room visit was not listed on the report, and her reactions to the vaccines were not listed on the report. Yet Ja’Liyah’s report stated there was no known significant medical history. All of this information was significant but intentionally ignored."
